EPISODE K-407 KIM - by Marc Mandel and Larry Gelbart & Laurence Marks A wounded five-year-old Korean boy whose parents are lost becomes the favorite of the 4077th staff. Hawkeye reads to him from a sexy novel. Radar shares his teddy bear and Klinger plays catch with him. While Hawkeye and Trapper try to find the boy's parents, Blake tries to arrange for the boy to be placed with the local orphanage. When Trapper hears this he writes his wife asking permission to adopt the boy everyone calls Kim. The only person not pleased to have Kim around is Frank Burns, who finds him in Hot Lips' tent where she reads a children's story to the child. Trapper gets his wife's approval to adopt Kim and goes looking for him only to find that he's gone on a picnic with Hot Lips and Frank. When they reach the picnic spot, Hot Lips and Frank are deeply engrossed in each other and Kim disappears. When they find him he is sitting in the minefield. Trapper starts after him, but is restrained by Hawkeye. Hot Lips tells Kim, in the little Korean she knows, to stay where he is. Blake gets a map to the minefield and starts to direct Trapper when he realizes it's the wrong map. Now Trapper is stranded. A helicopter is called in and picks up Trapper and Kim. After the rescue, Kim's mother arrives. Radar volunteers to be Trapper's adopted son.
