Hawkeye and Trapper find a patient they operated on has a high fever. They take a blood sample to the lab and learn it must be sent to Tokyo. This means a 72 hour delay before they'll know what is wrong with the patient. They charge into Henry's office where he and Radar are assembling a barbecue and demand that Henry requisition an incubator. Henry is reluctant, but Radar puts the paper through. A few days later, Capt. Sloan arrives from quartermaster and explains the 4077th is not entitled to an incubator, but it can have a pizza oven instead. Hawkeye orders Radar to phone around until he finds someone with an incubator in stock - Radar locates three in Pusan. Hawkeye and Trapper go to Pusan where they meet Major Morris, a medical officer with delusions of grandeur. He refuses to let them have an incubator, or even borrow one. They go to Colonel Lambert, commander of the base, to find that he is enjoying the war in comfort. He’ll charge them double for the incubator. Hawkeye and Trapper go to General Mitchell. He's holding a press conference so the duo pose as reporters and ask why M*A*S*H units aren't given incubators. The General talks around the question. Later, when they reveal their identities, they are removed by MPs and Henry is informed of their insubordinate behavior. They have too many wounded to tend to for Henry to punish them. Later Radar presents Hawkeye and Trapper with a brand new incubator; he swapped the barbecue for it.
