EPISODE K-423 MAIL CALL - by Larry Gdbart & Laurence Marks "Mail Call!" Radar is practically run over by the avid personnel of the 4077th who are looking for word from home. Trapper gets crushed cookies and pictures of his daughters, and is immediately homesick. Henry gets a promising-looking box that proves to contain his wife's checkbook for him to balance. Hawkeye gets a sweater knitted by his sister that could hold both him and Trapper. Frank gets a letter from his stockbroker telling him his portfolio has made $2000 in the past month. Klinger comes in with a tear-stained letter from his mother saying his father is dying. He thinks it means he should be discharged. Henry takes out a sheaf of letters from his file, all presented to him by Klinger after other mail calls - some say his mother is dying, others say his father is dying, yet others say his sister is pregnant. Radar, meanwhile, has a problem of his own - he's started a correspondence with a girl who believes he is a six-foot-two doctor. After consulting with Hawkeye, he tells his real thoughts, and the truth. Later things return to normal with Hawkeye and Trapper working in the O.R. and Frank making up lost time with Hot Lips.
