EPISODE K-424 A SMATTERING OF INTELLIGENCE - by Larry Gelbart and Laurence Marks The formidable Colonel Flagg breaks his arm in a helicopter crash and is taken to the 4077th. He refuses morphine for pain and confesses to Blake that he's a C.I.A. agent and swears him to secrecy. Radar, listening at the wall with a stethoscope, informs the camp that Flagg is a C.I.A. Trapper is stopped by Vinnie Pratt, an agent with Intelligence G-2, who arrives at the 4077th to check up on Flagg. Pratt reveals that Flagg broke his own arm to get sent to M*A*S*H. He's a snoop, trying to get information that will make him look good. Both Flagg and Pratt use lots of phony names. Pratt uses photos of Blake in compromising positions from home that wins him Blake's cooperation. Meanwhile, Flagg gets his arm checked by Hawkeye and learns about Pratt a.k.a. Stone, a.k.a. Martinez. Soon, both he and Pratt are snooping after Frank. Hawkeye and Trapper doctor Frank's file so one thinks Frank is a communist and the other thinks he's a fascist. They are both trying to arrest him when Hawkeye gives the game away. The agents become friends and leave, planning to keep an eye on those madcap medicos.
