EPISODE B-302

LIFE WITH FATHER - by Everett Greenbaum and Jim Fritzell

Mail call brings unsettling news to Henry Blake and Father Mulcahy. Blake's wife writes him that given the circumstances of war, she'd understand if he found another woman. Blake reads between the lines that she has another man. Mulcahy's sister, a nun, tells him she plans to leave religious life to marry and have children. Meanwhile, a Korean woman brings her baby to Hawkeye for a circumcision. The baby's father is Jewish and has directed her to have the proper ceremony performed. Radar is dispatched to find a Rabbi. Frank and Hot Lips get wind of the surgery, elective and against regulations. They plan to nail Hawkeye once and for all. Radar locates a Rabbi on the carrier Essex who'll be in radio contact for the next four hours. The operation is hastily arranged and Frank can hardly wait. Henry decides to call his wife, hoping she won’t discover he's been crying. She tells Henry she went to a dance with an orthodontist. Henry tells her not to cry and after he hangs up he breaks a few pencils. The Rabbi gets on the radio with the O.R. to give instructions to Hawkeye while Mulcahy repeats the ceremonial words.
