EPISODE B-313 BIG MAC - by Laurence Marks Word reaches the 4077th that General MacArthur will be arriving for a visit. Henry muses this will give him front page publicity in Bloomington and he’ll be able to charge seventy-five dollars per tonsillectomy. A few days later, CoL Whitman briefs the camp on the General's visit. First, he suggests that Klinger, in drag, be kept out of sight. The General will arrive at 1200 hours, circle the compound, be welcomed by Henry and have lunch. He’ll eat the same food with the staff. Hawkeye wonders if the General likes ice cream on top of his beef stew. Whitman thinks a surgical demonstration would be apropos. Hawkeye volunteers to do a hysterectomy on Frank Burns. The camp gets busy making preparations, leaves are canceled and a general clean up is ordered. Klinger is upset because he wants to see MacArthur. A special tent is readied for the General, containing a large picture of him and small picture of President Harry S. Truman. Radar, wearing dark glasses and holding a pipe, rides in a jeep in the final rehearsal before MacArthur's appearance. At last the General arrives. He takes one ride around the camp and leaves, saluting Klinger, who is standing on the edge of camp dressed as the Statue of Liberty, torch aflame.
