EPISODE B-314 ALCOHOLICS UNANIMOUS - by Everett Greenbaum and Jim Fritzell Hawkeye and Trapper return to the Swamp on a cold and rainy night to find Frank supervising the dismantling of their still. Frank is in command while Henry is away at a medical convention and he has decided that Hawkeye and Trapper are alcoholics. The two laugh him off, but in the morning they go to Mulcahy to see If he has any sacramental wine. He does, but can't let them have it. When Frank tells Hot Lips about the still, she tells him about her silver flask and gives the same reason as Hawkeye and Trapper to defend her drinking. Later Hawkeye and Trapper find Hot Lips mixing something to fill her flask. It's medicine she tells them, but they gather in her tent for a taste. Frank discovers all three very mellow and gets furious. He declares extreme punishment for anyone caught with liquor, then tells Mulcahy to deliver a stem temperance lecture. Hawkeye and Trapper get irritable and wonder if they are alcoholics. Mulcahy, nervous in front of a large audience, takes a sip of wine that Klinger offers before speaking. The wine makes him first warm, then confused. Hawkeye and Trapper start arguing, then fighting. Frank tries to intervene and gets a nasty kick. Hot Lips comes to his aid with her flask. When she tries to take it away, Frank resists and Prohibition is summarily repealed.
