EPISODE B-316 ADAM’S RIB - by Laurence Marks Sick of getting liver and fish for the eleventh straight day, Hawkeye dreams of spare ribs from a place in Chicago near the Dearborn Street station. Hawkeye broods about the ribs into the night and finally awakens Radar to call Chicago. Three calls later they have located Adam's Ribs and ordered forty pounds of ribs and a gallon of sauce. Now, the problem is picking it up. Who do they know in Chicago? Klinger has an uncle who'd help if they sign his discharge papers. They can not help him. He needs three signatures and only Hawkeye and Trapper will sign the forms. Trapper remembers a girl he once knew. He calls her and while Hawkeye imitates whistling bombs, Trapper gets her to agree to take the ribs to O'Hare, labeling them "Medical Supplies. Rush." Next, they wire Military Transport in San Francisco to rush the package to Korea. The next day they get bad news: the ribs are in Korea but hung up in channels. Hawkeye and Trapper hitch a ride to Seoul in a chopper. At the airport they are told that tons of other supplies need to be processed first and they are referred to a Sergeant. When they tell the Sergeant his storeroom looks like it might be breeding the plague, he starts to cooperate. But first he wants to know what's in the package. For a fee of ten pounds of ribs and a pint of sauce, the ribs are released. But the Sergeant points out that they forgot to order the cole slaw. Back at M*A*S*H, wounded come just as they are about to enjoy the ribs.
