EPISODE G-502 IT HASTENED ONE NIGHT - by Larry Gelbart and Simon Muntner; Story by Gene Reynolds An incessant artillery barrage is going on when Radar wakes Hawkeye to tell him it's his shift and B.J. tells him Abbott, a patient, needs watching. In Post-Op Hot Lips hands Frank Burns a note and is infuriated when he tears it up. She's kept every word he's ever written her. That makes Frank nervous. Abbott's pressure is too low and he's afraid to let anyone near him. Hawkeye calls a Lieutenant to ask about the shelling and learns it comes from our own guns. Jenkins, a nervous sentry, almost shoots Radar as he goes to wake Potter. The barrage has gotten worse so Potter calls a Major and tells him to move the gun fire or else. Jenkins appears in Post-Op with Klinger on his shoulder. He's been accidentally shot and Klinger, thinking this is his ticket home, is in "agony." Hawkeye, examining the wound, asks Klinger if he couldn't at least try to bleed a little. Meanwhile, Frank is in Hot Lips' tent searching for the letters he's written her. The barrage continues and Potter calls a Colonel this time. Abbott needs more and more blood and Hawkeye is sure he's leaking somewhere. Klinger tries to catch pneumonia, while Abbott runs out of Type O blood. Klinger's got the same blood type. Potter finally has to call a General before things quiet down.
