EPISODE G-509 DEAR PEGGY - by Jim Fritzell and Everett Greenbaum B.J. is writing home to his wife Peggy that war has been called an organized bore, which reminds him of Frank Burns. Recently, Burns gave up on a badly wounded soldier when his heart stopped. B.J. gave him artificial respiration, started his heart and Frank finished the surgery. The soldier is in serious condition. Mulcahy drops in on B.J. with a worry. Hollister, a divisional Chaplain, is coming up to inspect him and his flock. Hawkeye decides to rival college kids by cramming the 4077th personnel into a jeep. Mulcahy is on the bottom with assorted enlisted men and nurses on top of him. Hot Lips is on the very top. Hollister arrives as group gets out of the jeep. Mulcahy conducts a nervous service with Hollister watching as Hawkeye, B.J., Potter and Radar ham it up. The soldier is still critical and Hollister tells Mulcahy to write his parents telling them he's doing fine. As he does that the soldier takes a turn for the worse. Hawkeye takes charge and finds that Frank left some fragments in the wound area. He operates, takes out the fragments and the soldier stabilizes. He’ll make it, Hawkeye says, unless Frank operates again. Frank calls Hawkeye a twerp and Hawkeye's response is to lead some Korean students in an English phrase he taught them himself: "You tell 'em, ferret face." CAST Hawkeye Pierce Alan Alda B.J.
